I just bought TP-LINK Net Router Wireless TP-720 (TL-WR720N) coming with an easy install CD (Easy Setup Assistant). I followed the instructions in the manual and connected the modem to the router and the router to the PC which went okay, and now I have Internet access on my PC and laptop. The thing is I'm using the provided pin/password which came with the router and when I insert the CD in my PC the first few steps go well and then the following message is displayed:
Failed to assign IP for your computer
1. Please check the network connectivity.
2. Please check the model of your router.
And when I click OK it shows the following:
1. Network adapter check failed /or it says enabled sometimes and it shows a green tick/
2. Check network status /this is where I get stuck and have no idea what to do next/
I have Internet on my computers, but I think I have to go through the full installation and secure my network because now I'm using the default pin/password that came with the router on the back side. The wire/cable connectivity, and the WiFi are good and the router's lights are on or flashing. Do you have any idea what can I do to fix this problem? What should I do next?
This is my first router so I have no experience whatsoever in setting up routers. Please help. Any suggestion is appreciated.
